Biography

I was born (1969) and I live in the east of France, in Vosges (Saint die des Vosges) after having study horticulture. I worked for a long time in that domain of plants and I naturally became an independent artist ten years ago. First I had a craze for sculpture in tightrope, then in stone and finally in wood, that I shape with a chain saw. I have a real communion with wood, which inspire me all day long. He comes to light in my hands and shows me what is beautiful in him, although I am not trying to force him. Indeed I shape him according to his appearance, his veins, his colors... Most of the time, the idea I had for a wood piece changes because the wood itself doesn't suit the shape I want for him. When I have a precise idea, I try to find "neutral" wood piece that allows me to follow what I imagined, and not the wood shape. Over the years I finally realized that my final goal is to create things that blend different materials (wood, iron, stone, glass..) Best regards
